Frazzled brain

Hiya! I apologize. My brain is so frazzled that I forgot that I had said I was going to share photos of me with different hats as well as ghost stories this month! So, I’ll catch up a little:

I am very glad I have a lot of hats. You may remember my post from a bit ago in which I talked about my hair loss. I talked about shaving my head and getting rid of my hair. Well, I didn’t shave my head, but I did chop most of it off. It looks OK, but I don’t care what it looks like as much as I care that the hair falling out is now short little nothing strands instead of big, long hairs that clogged everything. And I can wear a hat to cover it. I feel much better!

I mean, honestly, look at the photos. I have long hair in all of them, but you can’t even tell because I always have it pulled back. So, there isn’t much of a difference, really.

OK, time for today’s bonus ghost story! Disclaimer: If you don’t believe in ghosts, stop reading and don’t comment on how you believe ghosts are nonsense. OK, here we go. I’ve mentioned that I grew up in a haunted house, and I live there now. There are numerous spirits here, and I’ve talked about one of them, a man who I think was in his 40s or 50s.

I think that he’s an aware ghost, as in, he knows he’s dead. This is because we moved into this house in 1987, and there was only one other owner, and they were alive when they sold the house. The land used to be farmland, and I think he was a farmer who died on the property. But he’s able to go upstairs, which is what makes me think he’s aware. How I wish we could research this property better!

My story is just about how he totally has a set schedule, though. Every day, he’s downstairs. Then, at night, after everyone is out of the living room upstairs, he goes up the steps. You can hear the steps and the railing creek. He wanders around the upstairs, and at 2 a.m., he goes into one particular room, which is my old bedroom. It’s fascinating to me. I can hear the footsteps from downstairs if I’m still up that late.

One more quick note about this haunted house: The den in the basement has something not good in it. There is a completely different feeling in there no matter what time of day or night it is. If I sit in there long enough, I can hear little noises here and there. I’ve recorded weird noises in there. Unfortunately, I don’t have those recordings anymore. I have never been able to sleep in there, though I have tried. There is a constant feeling of someone watching me, and I’ve felt that in there since I was a little kid. The den was always a scary place, and it still is.

It’s only Oct. 7, and I have so many more stories to tell! Until next time!
