Staycation off to a rainy start

Hello, hello, hello! It’s the first day of my nine days off. I’m only just over three hours into it, but it’s been interesting so far.

I woke up today at 8 a.m. to a thunderstorm. Thunder was so loud that it shook the house. Well, there was no falling back asleep during that, so I just went ahead and got up. So, a gloomy, rainy, loud start to the day. But that’s OK.

A bolt of lightning, very, very frightening.
Especially when it wakes you up at 8 a.m.

So, next up was getting dressed. In the dark. Why? Well, I have two main lights in my room, and the light in the half of the room with my clothes went out. I did not have the energy — no coffee yet — to change the bulb. So, I stumbled around in the dark and somehow managed to get dressed.

However, I did accomplish something already. My car needed to be inspected. I live in Virginia, and vehicles have to be inspected once a year here. Well, mine expired in April. It’s not like I was driving anywhere, anyway. But my mom’s vehicle inspection expired this month, so we decided to get our cars inspected at the same time. That way, we could wait in one car while the other was being inspected. It worked out really well, and I had no interactions with any people. So, yay, something to check off the list!

Now, I’m not sure what I am going to do the rest of the day. It’s still pouring rain, but it looks like we may get a break from that shortly, so I’ll sneak in a run/walk then. I think I may tackle cleaning and organizing that room I mentioned yesterday.

I will mention something fun I did over the weekend. I had some social interaction with strangers online. For the first time ever, I played an online multiplayer game. I was never interested in playing multiplayer before, but it seemed like it might be a fun way to interact with other people. I played PUBG, and it was fun! I’m terrible at it, and I felt bad for being terrible at it. But other people were terrible, too. The most interesting part was that I was talking to people who were playing from around the world. I love accents, and there were so many! It was really cool and the most interaction with other people I’ve had in months and months. Here’s to trying something new! Also, if anyone plays PUBG and has a lot of patience with noobs, I’d love to play with you.

OK, well, I’m going to go try to accomplish something. Until next time!
