Today marks four months since I started self-isolating due to the pandemic. Four. Months. I am definitely going quite insane from it.

I have only gone out a few times — three times to the vet because of my cat — and a couple other times. Those couple other times made me never want to go out again while this pandemic is going on because people won’t wear masks or practice social distancing.
LONG MASK RANT: For the love of sanity, wear a freaking mask when you go out. I do not understand why this is such a huge issue. Do you wear a seat belt in the car? Does your vehicle have airbags? Do you drive the speed limit? Do you drive in your lane? Do you stop at red lights? Do you look both ways before crossing a street? Do you get your vehicle inspected or maintained? Do you have car insurance? Do you register to vote? Do you have a driver’s license or any other kind of license needed to do your job? Do you get permits to make changes to your home? I could seriously go on and on and on and ON about all the things the government requires you do to for your safety and the safety of others. And masks is what gets you? MASKS? A thing that you can literally make from stuff you have in your home or get for free elsewhere? SOMETHING THAT PROTECTS OTHER PEOPLE FROM GETTING SICK AND DYING? And you don’t want to do that?

This isn’t me. But look at this lady. Look how she properly wears a mask. Look how she isn’t dying or dead or really inconvenienced at all by wearing a mask.
I DO NOT UNDERSTAND. I AM LITERALLY STUCK IN MY HOME BECAUSE PEOPLE WON’T WEAR MASKS. I am very high risk — I have GPA, an autoimmune disease that is a form of vasculitis, and COVID-19 is vascular, so COVID-19 has a very high chance of KILLING ME. It makes me so happy (sarcasm) to know that my life (and the lives of SO MANY OTHER PEOPLE) mean jack crap to folks who won’t wear masks. I am seeing so many videos online of people having a major freakout because they are asked to wear a mask. WHY? WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL? I’ve heard the explanations, and they are pathetic. And, these people have clothes on, something else that is required and honestly (in this summer heat) probably MORE uncomfortable than a mask. If doctors and nurses and other professionals can wear a mask ALL DAY, you can wear a mask for 15 minutes in Walmart. And, if you can’t handle putting a piece of cloth over your mouth AND nose, then don’t go out.
I would rather wear a mask and be told later that it didn’t really do anything (which isn’t true, as has been proven a ton of times) than not wear a mask and find out I’ve spread the virus to other people and caused them permanent damage, death or even just bankruptcy from the ridiculous medical bills.
As for the whole weird vaccine tracking thing or whatever other ridiculous conspiracy theories are out there, do you have a Social Security number? Do you file your taxes? Do you have an address listed with the Post Office? Do you have a smartphone? Do you use a debit or credit card? Do you exist anywhere besides in alone in a cabin never contacting anyone ever with no electricity, etc.? The government already tracks you. So, for the love of not being a total freaking moron, when they develop a vaccine for this disease that is literally killing thousands of people, get the dang vaccine!
RANT OVER. Thank you for your patience.
In all honesty, when this first began, I was kind of excited — not about the pandemic, that is completely terrifying. I am an introvert for sure, and here was this excuse to not interact with people or deal with people. It is just exhausting to be social. But after so much time interacting with pretty much only my mom, I have realized I miss people. (My mom is great, by the way, it’s just that she’s only one person.) I never in a million years thought I would miss social interaction, but I really, really do. It’s why I started this blog and have joined pretty much all the social media platforms (up next: Twitter). But it’s not the same. I want to go out with people and do something, ANYTHING. I am SO BORED. (I will mention this a million times, but I WANT TO TRY PAINTBALL. If anyone is interested or knows how I can do that, please message me in some way.)
So, while in my mind-numbing isolation, I am finding it quite a challenge to try new things or change myself, as I can’t GO ANYWHERE. So, please, please, please, if you have ANY suggestions for something fun I can do at home or even somewhere I can go that is near-zero risk, please email me, comment, if you’ve got my number, text me, message me on Facebook, whatever. Help pull me from the brink of insanity.
Until next time!
